Don’t Miss Klaff’s 2012 Summer Storewide Sale!
Klaff’s is having a fantastic storewide sale during the month of July, right up until July 28th.
Are you adding elegant lighting to your entrance foyer? If your foyer is large you may need to consider a variety of lighting types, including chandeliers, pendants, table lamps and wall sconces. The following are tips for chandelier fixture selection:
Width Measurement: The rule of thumb is to add together the length and width dimensions of the foyer (in feet), and this will give the diameter measurement (in inches).
Height Measurement: The bottom of the chandelier should be at least 7 feet from the floor. Using the overall foyer height, you can make a decision about the approximate chandelier size.
Placement: If there is a window above the front door, center the chandelier vertically and horizontally so that it can be seen from outside. Since the bottom of the chandelier should be at least 7 feet from the floor, this will help to determine how high or low the chandelier may be installed.
Quantity: Fixture quantity is often based on the overall dimensions of the foyer. For example, if your foyer is long and narrow, you may decide to install multiple smaller chandeliers.
Lighting Fixture Style: Finally, evaluate your interior design style, and select from lighting fixture styles that are either consistent with your interior design, or complementary to it.
