The recent Home Design Trends Survey from the American Institute of Architects dealt with kitchens and bathrooms, and the findings revealed that updating these spaces is very popular. According to an AIA press release:
“There is more space being devoted to kitchens in U.S homes. Emphasis on bathrooms, which didn’t see as much decline during the downturn, has remained stable. … Residential architects are reporting that business conditions are improving and there is a strong demand for remodeling and renovation projects.”
The press release also shared some of the top features for these two rooms, including a spot for a computer in the kitchen, water- and energy-saving elements in the bath, and universal design components in both spaces.
